I tried to do a search, but it limits the search word to 4 or more letters... "pH" won't work! :) So, my tap water pH is 8.4. Is there a way to lower it? I was planning on adding a big hunk of drift wood. Will this lower the pH? How does this affect water parameters during water changes...

Does the Eco Complete turn your water black? I saw that it says it is perfect for a black water tank - is this due to it's color, composition, or "staining" of the water? Oh, and Flourite is a great, easy to use product. And you don't have to use it alone. you can try to mix it half and half...

I don't know yet! :) It was a great looking piece on ebay, perfect size, just what I was looking for as a center piece. It is very inexpensive compared to my LFS. I think I'm going to buy it for as cheap as it is and give it a try.
