Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It depends on the Betta. I would make sure that there are lots of good hiding places for the RCS if you decide to give it a try.

Not that I am aware of. I think anything done to the water is done by the city.

I have a three gallon tank that when I wanted to upgrade the lighting I got a WavePoint 6" 8 watt LED.I got the model that is a very pleasant 6500 k, but there is also a 10000 k model. I got it off of Amazon and am liking it a lot.

Also the Ph coming out of the tap (after resting a day) is 7.8. I thought soft water went with low Ph.

You can use regular super glue to glue rocks together. You can use silicon too, but some types are okay for aquariums and some aren't.

If the tank feels cool you might want to double check the temperature of the tank with another thermometer. You could try an instant read thermometer or another aquarium thermometer. Sometimes the scale on the thermometer is off so it might say 80 but really be cooler than that.
