i have similar tank which contains 11x 3.5 inch discus,,,,2x julii,,,1x cory and plec...tank is happy.needs good filtration frequent water changes and good aeration..but don't be put off.very rewarding fish...will try to download photo

i have had 25x2.5 inch discus in a tank that size,really regular water changes though they were happy.with discus you can tell...theyr'e like pets....need tlc.if youv'e not time don't bother.....they seek your affection or go dull

i'm a bit bias but size of tank you would love discus......start small......2.5inch..if you can afford..about 6 or 8..pets in a tank...you'll never look bakk..temp about 84/86 though

i have 7x 4-41/2 inch discus in a 55 gal tank.because of a disease which was due to adding unquarantined fish to another tank...........its a long story..........but before then had about 35 fish of varying sizes and they were very happy

peppering is due to metals in the water..tap water around 7 ph is ok , but will have other properties in it . will not harm fish but may cause peppering.pale fish .ie; yellows will pick out other elements rather than blues or greens\browns etc..hma filters can reduce this.when you have a happy...

depending on size of discus. frequent water changes and a hma filter,,plenty of tlc .it ia aso reccommended to give hiding places.......i don't agree..force them to be out there. you could manage 12x 3inch discus ..couple of julii catfish and have a happy tank...(don't forget oxygen bubbles though)
