Just to confirm, you do have a filter, right? Just making sure, because no one mentioned it specifically, and you said you were avoiding electronics. It's not just water level, it's the ripple caused by the filter output when the water is low enough.

    Power Outage Help

Not an expert, but my power was out for 67 hours a few weeks ago, and no fatalities. I was probably lucky, and my tank is also understocked and planted, but I think 4 hours would be OK. Maybe change some water halfway through to re-oxygenate? -P

First Shot At A Planted Tank

Thanks! Yeah, those are snails  Have had more than usual lately, but I siphon some out each time I do a water change. They've been in there for a looooong time and the population fluctuates, but lately I've seen a ton of eggs. Not sure why. And to think, we thought it was cool when we saw...

First Shot At A Planted Tank

Well, it's been three months since the last photos. (Tends to happen to me during the summer... spending more evenings outside than by the fish tank and what not.) Not much different--planted some of the Egeria densa in the back right, but it's not "growing" on me yet  so I might replace...

Has the corymbosa grown out enough to see it well in pics? If so, I'd love to see how it looks! -P

Amazing, on both the plants and fish. Well done! Is that the pearl gourami in the second and third pics of your latest round?

First Shot At A Planted Tank

New pics! Though they look a lot like the old ones, they're mostly for me, so deal  As before, this is two weeks from the last set. Mostly just a little more dense in the elodea forest, and the hornwort seems to be doing well. Both took a hefty prune on Friday, as they were reaching across...

    75G Planted For Beginners. Haha.

I think bunching the stem plants, like you are doing with the cabomba clippings, will help the back. I don't think you necessarily need broad-leaf plants, just denser groupings of the existing plants. Which one is the water sprite? I don't see any that look like "a hot mess." I'd have...

First Shot At A Planted Tank

Interesting, thanks! I might just remove the small piece of wood in the center-right. It was for my bristlenose, but he never went in and is probably too big now anyway. How bad is it to uproot swords to move them forward a bit? I was surprised with the extent of the roots under the smaller...

    75G Planted For Beginners. Haha.

Looking great! I have to say, I was shocked comparing "before and after" pics of my tank too. The gradual change is almost not noticeable until you see it in a side by side. Love the wood, by the way! -P

Top notch! :good: What's in the back left? Also can't wait to see the corymbosa when it pops up.
