    Cycling I think I’m close but am I ?

That’s a fair comment. If the fish were exposed to the nitrites I have in my tank currently then they’d be dead, so prime is doing something positive. I’m doing a water change tomorrow, will just continue to monitor but prime at the moment does seem to be a life saver as a water treatment.

Bit of a blanket response with very little substance. A small tank will not need 2 50% water changes every single week. It’s no different to a larger tank. It’s fish ratio to water were talking about here, has nothing to do with a fish tank size.

Absolutely doesn’t state that on the bottle, says it can be used directly in the tank as well as on water changes. Because my tank is in my front room, and it’s a small tank. My water changes are done 2 litres at a time, that’s 0.05ml of a dose. I have nothing that precise to deliver such a...

Prime Seachem - does it doesn't it work

They say it doesn’t bind oxygen unless it’s grossly overdosed. Otherwise it will not. Nitrites also deplete oxygen for the fish so I guess it’s a case of pick your weapon.

Just thinking. If a biorb doesn’t fully circle, couldn’t you just use seachem prime every other day? Problem solved right? Rather than daily water changes.

If it doesn’t fully cycle because it being not a great tank, could I just use seachem prime indefinitely? I can’t see why you couldn’t.

I have the biorb 30l tube, cycling currently, I’m just interested, did you get the nitrites down? I’m concerned if the biorb can even cycle at all.

So I’m a newbie, well I’ve had small tanks I’m the past (many years ago) but I was too young and cycling wouldn’t have even been something I would have known about then. I waited a week and chucked fish in and that would have been the end of it. Now, much older and wiser, I’m doing this...
