yea he's not stuck in a plant, i scoured the tank when i changed the water. And now again, about a week ago, another disappeared. I'm noticing the smallest two disappeared. it's strange.

I just got 4 new glass catfish and 3 are healthy and happy but the 4th one disappeared after a day of having him! The slots in the filter arent big enough for him to have gotten sucked in, there is a secure lid on the tank so he couldntve jumped, and the other fish in the tank arent big enough...

Well the fish died. The popeye went away, but his stomach was still very very bloated so i put him in a hospital tank and he died a few days after. Guess I'll never know what caused it. :unsure: -_- :-( :rip:

I got a 28g tank and it's been running a while now and I'm ready to add fish. I really want tiger barbs but I don't know how big of a group they should be kept in. I don't want them to be in too small of a group and start getting nippy with the other fish. My plans for other fish are 4 glass...

That's so lucky! I can't get my dwarf rainbows to mate no matter what I do.

Maybe a pair of dwarf gouramis would be good for a 10g setup as they are easy to care for and hardy. Plus they are very pretty. :) :fish:

I usually just use common sense when stocking, not the inch to gallon rule. And I too overstock sometimes but with good waterchanges overstocking a little is okay. :) And fishbowls are not acceptable. Plus, they're not good for viewing the fish anyways. The spherical shape distorts the...

Yea if it's not affecting the fish's behavior it might not even notice it's there.

I also have a ten gallon tank and personally I don't really use the inch per gallon rule. It's really a matter of common sense. If the tank looks like it's at capacity, it probably is. And if your fish are lonely I'd say get the other 2 fish. I only really use the rule as a guideline.

The bottomfeeders would like the sand because it would be soft for them and wouldn't damage their barbels or anything. But sand makes the tank kind of cloudy when you first put it in and is harder to clean so really you could do either. :)

When you add the wood or rocks some types of rocks can change the hardness of the water, and be careful because there are some types of wood that will stain the water an orangish color.

There are actually certain things that you can get to put into the water to remove the cloudiness. Once the water in my tank became very cloudy but all I had to do was change the filter media and rinse the gravel, which you did, so I can't see why you'd have any problems anymore... maybe it's...
