Hi I'm thinking of buying an aquarium....maybe 4ft length (300 - 400 litres capacity) and need to know a few things beforehand. What would be the monthly expense with regard to filtration/heating etc? Is it necessary to do water changes weekly?......I'd prefer to have a low maintainance...

Hi I'm thinking about setting up a 4 foot tropical tank. I may have space for a 5 or even a 6 footer instead. What are the advantages/disadvantages of a larger tank ie more/less maintenance. With an outdoor pond I've been told the larger the better.....Is this true for an aquarium? Thanks...

Thanks Angel and Miss Wiggle (good name) What would a small water change be ?? 5 or 10% per week maybe?? If I were to consider a couple of suitable shoals of fish, what would you recommend? I was thinking perhaps tetras or barbs. Thanks :good: Steve

Thanks Chibi I think I'll go ahead with the aquarium...............They look great. My plan is to plant it up quite heavily and just have enough fish of a couple species (maybe two or three small shoals) :rolleyes:
