    fire bellied/red-bellied

they're definitely fish rather than newts.. silvery grey with red bellies is about the best description i can think of. they're not that big at the moment but they're young apparently (about 5cm).

    fire bellied/red-bellied

Hi - I've posted this in beginners also. Can anyone help? My friend has been sold a pair of fire-bellied fish (?) plus an angel for her new setup. One of the fire-bellies has died already and I'm trying to find some info on them but the only thing that comes up on google is fire-bellied toads...

    Fire-bellied fish?

Hi My friend has been sold a pair of fire-bellied fish (?) plus an angel for her new setup. One of the fire-bellies has died already and I'm trying to find some info on them but the only thing that comes up on google is fire-bellied toads. Does anyone know of these fish? Cos I've never seen...

    Very sick molly...

thanks for your advice - I put her in a breeder (I know they don't always like that but I didn't have anywhere else to put her). She was dead by yesterday morning :( A couple of babes she had in the week have died too - they are quite weak, there are two left now. I've treated the tank with...

    Very sick molly...

Thanks for your advice but I've had fish with dropsy before and I'm not convinced whether she's got it. She is bloated and her scales are out a bit - but more like she's just stressed rather than a sympton of dropsy. Her vent(?) has enlarged a lot tonight so she maybe about to give birth?

    Feeding Mollies

Not sure if it's normal but my molly's eat anything they see. They eat all of their flake food and when they're not being fed they're always getting algae of rocks and picking bits of food up off the gravel. I wouldn't worry too much about them not feeding from the flakes - they maybe just...

    Very sick molly...

I've also posted this in the livebearer section so sorry to repeat myself but need advice asap. I've just got home to find that one of my mollies is really huge and is being taunted by the other tankmates - she almost looks like a balloon molly. I've never seen her looking this big even when...

    Very sick molly...

Hi, please help! I've just got home to find that one of my mollies is really huge and is being taunted by the other tankmates - she almost looks like a balloon molly. I've never seen her looking this big even when she's been pregnant before. Any ideas what's up with her? She has got a black...

    manic molly

I did have a male who chased them all but he died after he made two of them pregnant! I'm thinking of moving my 'hassled' molly to my other tank as the babies are probably big enough not to get eaten now..not sure how it;ll work out though.

    manic molly

-_- One of my silver mollies is exactly the same with my other silver molly - constantly chasing her and forcing her into the corner of the tank all the time. They are both female though. I think it maybe just in their nature that some are like that going by experience and previous posts on here

    feeding my fry

I didn't use eggs with my baby mollies but I think liquifry 2 is made of egg and algae - so it's less hassle but still has the protein. I fed mine liquifry 2 for a few weeks, now they're on liquifry 3.

My silver molly seems to be ill again...

I've managed to take some pictures of my silver Molly who is ill. She seems to be getting worse and getting a grey appearance to her scales (which is more evident since I took these photos). She is still being picked on, predominately by the other female silver Molly and she sometimes swims on...

    More babies!

Hi everyone Just thought I'd let you know that I discovered another baby molly hiding in a plant when I was doing a water change at the weekend! It is jet black and seems a lot skinnier than the other babies. I'm wondering if it's possibly as old as my others but hasn't been getting enough...

    Agressive Molly

One of my black females behaves like yours does with the algae wafers but over peas that I feed. Tis quite funny at times but not nice for the other fish. It's my silver molly that causes the most problems with constantly abusing my other silver female though. :( Don't really think I can...
