Do all fish like cucumber? I added a bit to my tank as an alternative to flakes and pellets and none of them have really even looked at it.
I have 6 rosy barbs, a featherfin catfish, 2 danios and a tetra.
I did originally have goldfish in my tropical tank but I was told the warmer water speeds up their metabolism and ages them much quicker, causing shorter life spans. They also get too big for your average fish tank.
How do I ensure it eats any food I put in the tank? It is my only bottom dweller and no food ever seems to make it past the rosy barbs at the top!
Is there anything I can do to make sure my cat eats?
This is the thing, I only have a 15 gallon and I've just read the topic on them in the catfish section and it says minimum of 30g. I think it is still young as it's not very big, 3-4 inches, if it gets much bigger then I will look to rehome. He's very peaceful.
I have 6 rosys in place now, did what you said SJ2K, floated the bag with a bit of tank water in then gently poured them in later. They seem happy so far lol.
It's another product I inherited with the tank and original fish, apart from some food I haven't bought anything new.
I'll see how they go!
Thanks both of you!
Gremily, thanks, why net them out, can't they just be poured? Or do I not want to mix the two waters in the tank?
Thanks SJ2K, seems all my questions are answered by you, saviour!
Forgive my naivety but I thought adding fish was as simple as laying their bags in the tank and letting them become used to the temperature before releasing them. Since joining this site, I realise it's not that straight forward, but does anyone have any tips for how to do this properly?
I am...
Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good fish for a 15 gallon tank! I am thinking of getting some rosy barbs, I have 4 fish in my tank at the moment, totalling about 6". How many barbs will go in without being over crowded and will it be enough for them to live happily?
