    Looking At Swapping To Cichlids

I bought my rocks from Maidenhead at Hickstead, can't remember how much it was but it wasn't expensive. Just give it a good clean etc before putting in the tank. My rock goes about 1/3rd of the height of tank so it doesn't need loads. I'm not around an awful lot at the moment because of work...

    Looking At Swapping To Cichlids

I see you support Brighton, are you local? If so you're welcome to look at my tank (I'm near Worthing).   I have a Juwel 125 with Pseudotropheus Saulosi dwarf Mbuna. I currently have 11 (4 males) and find this number about right for my tank. Ideally you usually need 2-3 females per male to keep...

    New Saulosi Set Up

Update: Have been thinking about selling the tank and starting (my first) marine set up. Still undecided though - thinking about doing a rescape on this tank with a nice slate wall at the back as I'm a bit bored with the look. Fish are still doing well, managing to keep aggression under control.

    New Saulosi Set Up

Thanks :) Some recent pics (bit blurred sorry), males have coloured up really nicely. Tank still seems to be fine without any nasty aggression.

    New Saulosi Set Up

Fish are doing well - now have three coloured up males, so far no real trouble. I was doing a clean up/water change a few weeks ago and noticed two fry hiding under a rock. I moved them into a breeding box so they weren't eaten, sadly one died but the other is now at least 4-5 weeks old and...

    Which Form Of Algae Removal

I use a sponge, you can properly get into all the nooks and crannies then - also much quicker IMO. It's also easier to rinse as you go as to not scratch the glass.

The Official "hey Lovelies" Thread 2

Not much to report on the fish front, although one of my Mbuna is starting to colour up   As for me, utterly miserable! Had key hole surgery on my ankle, on Monday. I play football (soccer) and was expected to return to action in 6-8 weeks, however the operation was more complicated. Now on...
