Wow, those bettas are so pretty! Could you tell us us more about how your raised the young ones? Food, tank size, maybe a few tips? I'd like to breed bettas one day when I have my own place and can afford to raise them, haha.

Do you have to leave the shrimp in a bag to help them get used to the water temperature? As you would with fish?

It's been a couple days now. He still looks healthy and flares all the time but still does the darting/rubbing thing sometimes. I'll shut off my filter for awhile to see if that's the issue. EDIT: He's building a bubblenest now so perhaps that's all it was :) I'll have to pick up a sponge...

I've been watching my betta the last couple days and started seeing him dart around and rub against the wall, filter, etc. objects in tank every once in awhile. He still eats, looks normal (flares, scales and eyes look fine, no gold/white dots on his body). I figure it must be parasites though...

Well, he stopped being stubborn and gave in to eating the floating pellets. I'm gonna try getting him to eat flakes and worms tomorrow for variety. While we're talking about the test kit, I had a question for the ammonia test. When it's 0, will it be a very solid, bright yellow? Because my results always end up showing a distilled yellowish color; I'm assuming it represents .25 though instead of 0.

What is the difference between Coppersafe and Maracide?
