Tank was filled with water with filter running + cycle put in every day for 3 days before I put the fish in. When the person at the pet store tested the water they said there wasn't enough ammonia, nitrate and nitrite in the water or something along those lines. I have done 2 50% water changes...

Thanks for the reply. I will keep that in mind but would they be why his tail is looking shredded? He hasn't flared at them at all since I saw the hole in his tail and he never did before that.
