Pearl Is Going Back To Lfs

Gouramis are agressive, but I highly doubt it killed one of your other fish. I kept Blue gouramis (some say the most agressive gourami), and they did just fine I very rairly see them chase anything that was not another gourami. And I found that age or size, has nothing to do with temperment.

    Help!

What is the wrong with sand??? As long as you don't have an UGF you can use larger gravel, river rock, coral (coral will raise you ph) ect. How big are the fish?

    Giant Gourami

Do you have a tank to put her in? If so fill up the tank 50-75% with water from your current tank and the rest with new water (put a filter on it if you have one, or do 25% water changes EVERY DAY). If you don't have another tank do a 50% water change in your main tank, then go to the pet store...

    How Many And Who With

Blue gouramis can get very agressive towords other gouramis. I stoped some of the agression by keeping all the gouramis the same size and only keeping females (but females can also be agressive), and adding them to the tank all at once. I have only keeped blue's so I can only post about them...

    Worried About Moving Fry

Why wouldn't you bag them??? If they are really young I would bag them, adding some water just incase something is a little off. Congrats on the fry :D

    Minimum Tank Size

The bigger the better, the more the better. But if you stick with the 1-2 gal. of water per 1 in. of fish you should be good. And I would not keep less then 6. I had a 30 gal set up with 20 male guppies. They are cool looking fish, but I found they didn't have a lot personality (don't be mad...

I'm In A Vacation Dilemma Here

I would do a 50% water change, and use one of those 1 week feeder blocks, break it in 1/4 (or smaller). The auto feeders tend to feed too much and with you being away so long the fish will eat more and produce more waste and could do more damage then just not feeding him at all. 2.5 weeks is not...

New 55 Gallon Tank , Yay

I say test your tap water ph and if its high go with cichlids. If not what about a community/planted tank?

    Ph

Baking soda is a quick solution but does not last long, to bring your ph up you can do a 25-30% water change and in the new water add about 1 tsp per 5 gal, do this everyother day until your ph is where you want it. Check your ph about 2 hours after you do a water change. It is important to...

    Green Puffers Turning Grey

It sounds like they are brackish (between fresh and salt), some brackish fish do fine in freshwater, until they don't. they tend to last ohhh anywhere from a couple days to a few years. You never really know, but most die off withing a few weeks. If you could ID it (google), you could then see...

    Cichlid Problem

Yeah 7.5 is okay my tanks are at 7.8, I think he just is in shock. No your temp is fine (I keep mine a little higher then others, but yours is well within the guidlines) A steady PH is more important then anything, and like you said it sounds like he had long day and possibly 3 different ph...

New Tank Smells After 5 Days

    That happens a lot, I went from a 1 gal :P tank to a 15  to a 30 ;) I now have a 55gal :hyper: .

    Cichlid Problem

Raise the temp a bit to 80-82 F, did you check the PH before you put him in or after? How did you raise it? Is the tank cycled??? The temp is a bit low (not much) but could cause him to be less active. If your PH was different (as little as .2 matters) than the tank he came from and you just put...
