I'm not sure if this has been answered or not but for a heater you can place a 50w stealth in the 1st rear chamber. It requires removing the false floor. Theo makes a 50w heater that will fit without removing the false floor. I have a Stealth in my 14gal biocube (nano reef)

If it says it's fully submersible than it's safe to "dunk" it. I would run the power through a GFCI in case of faults...

Both, and quite surprisingly they're reading really close to the same. Originally I was only using a stick on, as I was waiting for my glass thermometer to arrive via UPS. I got impatient and went to the LFS and bought one yesterday. The glass one is reading pretty much the same temp.

It's by a North facing window, no direct sun light this time of the year.

How long has the tank been running? What's the levels of the tank currently? (temp? nitrates?) If the tank is cycled and you're just looking for something to put in that is hardy, I would go with tetras or dominos. (this is from my expierence from years ago, maybe things have changed?) If...

Don't worry, I'm not "complaining" of the heat. I love the heat (in the summer). I also love the cold (in the winter). I'm a 4 seasons kind of guy. :shout:

The plan was to cycle the tank fishless, then use domino's as the first "hardy" fish. Possibly add tetra's later. I'll look into dwarf gourami's as well. I really wish I could figure out why the temp was so high though. I don't live in a high-heat area. I'm in SE PA, temps are usually only...

I've kept gourami's years ago, but I didn't think many could be kept in a 10g tank. I'll take a look at your link, thanks :)

Honestly I haven't really thought about that too much. Will probably start with 2 or 3 domino's and in a few months maybe some Tetra's. I'll read more about FW species and compatibility before purchasing them obviously.
