I wish i read this 2 days ago lol. I just bought everything. Oh well im doing this more for learning so lesson learned. MkIII might have to be next month. :-) Fortunately the drivers i bought were of that spec, but they are also cheap so i should imagine they will suffer the same concequence...

Diy Led Lights - Not Really The Correct Way...

Good to know! Thanks for the input. Ill watch out for it. I think if i were to repeat this experiment for mk3, id stick to 3w led's like most people seem to do. The amount of lumens they produce compared to these big led's is almost tripple for the same power.   I made a bit of a mistake with...

Diy Led Lights - Not Really The Correct Way...

So I worked out the rest of what i'd need, all circuits and everything comes to just over £50   I read more about relays so I now know what needs doing.    Heres the entire circuit I had to be creative with some of the symbols as visio didnt have a relay symbol( used a switch/thermister and a...

    Clown Loaches Are They Magicians?

When I first started up, I never saw mine. Then I went to clean out the internal filter only to find that they chewed through the suction caps and made their way into the inner wall of the filter. They need hiding places otherwise they get stressed and die.    So its normal :)

    "growth" On Guppy Fry

Looks like a birth defect to me. Internal organs growing out. The fluff may be fungal infection as these organs are meant to be inside. I'd probably do what the LFS did and put it down. 1) its probably in pain, 2) you don't want fungal infections harming your biologics of the water. Either way...

Pearl Gouramis, Threadfin Rainbowfish - Northolt, Middlesex. London.

Hi Im interested in the rainbowfish. All of them. I can pick up tomorrow night? I work in the city so 8-9pm? Its going into a 72 gall tank which is very understocked. It is also a planted aquarium, not dense at the moment, but still plenty of hiding places.

    Co2 And Air Pump

Hi SLIM   I watched this one, no commetry about the angle, but just by visual observation.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVxinVoLBjg   I'll move the angle to face exactly down and also add 1 hole per 15cm facing across so it still agitates the surface but not enough to effect all the CO2. (I...

    Co2 And Air Pump

Hi Slim. Thanks for the reply. I learned looots of new things :)   Lol neither am I! I kind of got caught in a sticky situation. I had not used my ceramic diffuser in so long and i thought it got clogged up. So I removed it only to find that the tubing was extremely tough and I couldnt remove it...

Diy Led Lights - Not Really The Correct Way...

Hmmn, I suddenly have a cunning plan. I'll get an extra 5m length of bright day light and remove 2 strips of blue in place. which will leave me on an 8:3 ratio. (2.67:1)   Although it will probably end up using almost the same 60W as my other light unit, I should imagine that it will output more...

Need Help With Setting Up 15Gal Tank With Liveplants

Hi, I used to have a tank setup like this, see my journal. I found that tetra complete substrate worked great! however, after a few months, you could definitely tell where i had uprooted the plants as it stuck out from the black gravel.    Internal filters should be ok, make sure your exit valve...
