The findings on inbreeding were from widespread research, if you both have never seen this, I will learn from your experience over mine :) I have heard of deficiencies from inbreeding, and those fish were inbreeding deficiencies, however it might not always be the case.

I am sorry for that disease! I think females would be happy in a thirty gallon, just be sure to introduce them well and do the research :)
