Just re read your explanation obviously the live and neutral don't go together , I found a diagram that shows the neutral goes to the terminal on left with the lightning type symbol and live in the other..

Hi bodge thanks for your reply, it looks different from the picture on ebay , it is stamped QTP-DL 1x18-24 . Not sure what that means.. More pics
