I tend to buy fish from small aquatic shops because they don't use RO water just ordinary tap water.

It sounds like your LFS water quality isn't good or your keeping your fish in sterile water.

Where do you buy your fish from? Is it a multi national company or a small petshop/aquarium?

Do what you are doing now, still aerate, heat and light you don't need to stop doing that.

Like i suggested before try black water extract it makes all the difference.

Floating plants are better because the fry have a tendency to swim near the surface.

Leave them in the bottle. You don't feed them because you wont have them in the bottle for long anyway.
