Sometimes my betta, Bruce has little white spot on his gill or on his body. It's not ick, and it disappears in about 2 hours or so. I don't think you should worry if it doesn't look like ick. And if it's ick you will notice some new spots pretty soon. Hope that helps! :)

    Freeze Dried Foods

Freeze dried food can cause constipation and not very nutritious. I used freezed dired bloodworms and FD brine shrimp but I changed them to frozen ones. It's so much more better, nutritious and my betta doesn't have constipation since. If I were you I would use the frozen foods.

That's good!! And did they eat the frozen brine shrimp for the first time? Or did they spit it out? I will try again to give it to my buddy I hope he will eat it!!

    Gel food

Are you sure it wasn't spoiled? Was it the first time that you fed them from that shrimp? A lots of people feed their fish with frozen brine shrimp and they don't die. Fish can die from bloodworms too if they are spoiled or if any chemicals are on them. Did you thaw it in conditioned water?

    Gel food

Probably because it was spoiled. And how do you know for sure that it was the shrimp???

    Gel food

But he didn't go after it, and he always puts the food in his mouth and chew it inside, he never spits it out.

    Gel food

I ende up buying frozen brine shripm insted of the gel one. I gave some frozen brine shrimp for Bruce and he just spits it out. Maybe he doesn't like it or just he hasn't got used to the new food? That would be very surprising because he always accepted the new food and ate it. Or is...

    Gel food

How much did you pay for it? And what do you think if I give it to my betta once a week for breakfast and dinner how long will it be enough?

    Gel food

Oh that's great news  I didn't buy any yet, at first I want some opinions. I found it at my LFS and it was about 6.50$ Very expensive. But I have just one betta so it's not too bad. I will check Wal Mart. I know they have bloodworms, but I'm not sure if they have brine shrimp. Yes I...

    Gel food

Hello, Anyobody has experience with gel food? Do bettas like it? I'm planning to buy Tetra gel food (brine shrimp). Does the gel pollute the water? Or should I just leave the gel in the package? Do you know what I mean? Thank you ;)
