what impact does a 50/50 flourescent bulb have on an aquarium? what does having one of the lights blue do differently than having them both white? does it help the plants or something? i saw one at petsmart.com and was just wondering what difference it makes.

i read on a snapple cap that if left in the dark, a goldfish will eventually turn white. haha i thought it was really interesting.. does anyone know why?!

would it be impossible to keep the dp in the 2.5g? i know 5 gallons per dp is the general rule of thumb, but if it's just one, would he be okay?

wow, nice turtle.. my friend had like 10 of those before.. he was selling them. he also had mississippi maps, pensylvania cooters, and red eared sliders. I thought of buying one, but they get so big! and i have no where to keep it. the maps were cute though :wub:

i hate it! i was all excited when i got them for my tank, then after about a week theyre both dead. i acclimated them and everything! i know that otos are usually sensitive to adjusting to new environments, but still! i hate having to keep going back to the pet store and buying more!

:lol: how many pets did you lose?! :crazy: i buried my two turtles somewhere in the backyard when i was little, mom threw away all the dead fish, and when my betta died i buried him at school :D and the others trashed.

thanks for the advice.. i moved all the plants to the sides of the tank, one of the rocks are in the middle.. and the wood thing isnt driftwood, it's some log thing that looks kinda cool. i'll try to get another picture of the updated tank to get some feedback on it. thanks again!

i just bought a buncha new plants for my brothers tank, and after i put everything in there.. it looks a little.. cluttered. apparently i dont have any aquascaping skills so could you guys help me redecorate? i want it to look natural and varied, but i dont know where to place the plants...

thanks guys. i ended up buying the smaller package of 12 assortments for $25. the tank will be planted, but not too overcrowded. hopefully the plants will grow in. ill try to post pictures of me setting up the tank when they get in
