Thanks for the response. I'm just worried because these are not adult full size fish. I feel terrible to leave them so soon after getting them but I've heard they can go a week without food too.
Oh well, we'll see what happens...
I'm away for five days, I've only had my fish in the tank for two weeks after completing a fishless cycle over four weeks. They are young fish, seven small tetras (I'm only half stocked). I can feed them on Monday but I won't be back until late on Friday. Will they be okay without food for four...
DAY 25
This morning my numbers were:
0.25ppm Amm
0.25ppm Nitrite
From a 4/5ppm Amm dose 12 hours ago. I think I'm almost cycled (hopefully just days away :)) so I'd like to know what temp I should set the tank for the qualifying week?
Mine's taking 14 hours too... :( My husband thinks I'm deluded, my children think I'm crazy and quite frankly I'm bored of looking at a pretty but *empty* tank.
Then again, prefer this to dead fish...
And it's given me time to do research and learn about my tank, water, my filter and ofcourse...
Result!
Went to Pets At Home this morning to look at the fish and got talking with one of the assistants. When I told him I'd broken some of my test tubes he gave me one of his plastic ones for *free*.
