i went to one of the sites you had suggested i think it may be one of these Fungus; Body Fungus (True Fungus) Columnaris: Mouth Fungus; Fin Rot disease; Cotton Mouth disease (False Fungus) it sounds like lots of things but i think the first one is like it

they are still eating and they are gasping at the surface.but not all the time i have 3 mollies 4 tetras 4 neon tetras and about 18 fry left loseing fry at about 2 a day now the colour of the slime on them is greyish no sores or ripped/rotting fins

my tank is a 3 foot ive had the same filter since iv had the tank and yes i cleaned it out with tank water the tank might be a bit crowed since my guppy had about 25 fry the ph 7.0 ph and the nitrate was fine two i have only been feeding every second day i had 3 molles 4 guppys 4 neon tetra...

:sad: :sad: ive started to have lots of problems all was well for about 12 months then all of a sudden fish started dieing checked ph all was good checked ammiona levels was very high about 4-5ppm done 25 % water change every second day for a week cleaned gravel up the cleaned the filter...
