I think it might be working, from what I can see this morning the eyes are starting to recover and the fish are generally more lively at the centre of the tank rather than moping at the bottom... Also I have lifted the lid and spelt it - it just smells like a normal fish tank now and the water...

It does smell a bit stagnant yes, is there anything that can be done about that??

If you feed them very little for 3/4 days they should return to normal. It is due to an increase in the toxins in the water. ensure your filter is working ok and the temp is between the green marks on the therm. Good luck! Matt
