1 week since tank switch and no detectable ammonia. However I got a reading of .25 nitrite. Also the water became cloudy the second day and hasn't changed. What's wrong?
I moved my goldfish over to his new tank today. Seems like he's doing well. He now has his old filter and his new filter on the tank (they're both the hang on back of tank kind). When I test the water what should I look for?
I realize that he needs a much larger tank however right now I don't have anywhere to put a tank that size. Hopefully soon though. Thank you so much for the info.
Hi,
I'm moving my goldfish from a cramped 5 gallon tank to a new 10 gallon tank. I took some of the wood and rocks from the old tank and placed them in the new tank to seed the bacteria growth. But I was wondering if I simply move the old filter over to the new aquarium then I don't have to wait...
I realized that I hadn't done a thorough cleaning of the gravel for quite some time. So I cleaned the gravel out yesterday and changed about 50% of the water. He's still spinning though.
Would a 20 gallon be big enough for 3 glass cats? I noticed that he does have red under his gills. What does...
My glass catfish is all alone with my guppies in my 10 gallon tank. He seemed happy for about 5 months until he started spinning and swimming wildly about a week ago. I couldn't figure out what the problem was because the water chemistry is fine and he doesn't have any damages or discoloration...
Thank you for everyone's help. The ammonia has gone down quite a bit now and in a couple days I think it should read 0. How long do you think it will be before he's healed though? Is there anything other than water changes I can do to help him heal?
If I buy a 20 gallon tank for Goldie will he...
My goldfish has been living in a 5 gallon tank alone for over a year. About 2 months ago the water became very milky looking. I changed the water by about 75%. It didn't go away. So I left it alone and didn't worry until recently. My Goldfish developed a large red spot on his back. I thought it...
He is eating ok. Although it appears to be difficult for him to see the food the way he's spinning. He is less than a year old. So it's not age. His barbels are not worn down or gone. I'm certain it's stress related or a disease. Thanks for everyone's help.
Well I've not had any success figuring out exactly what the problem is. I'm going to assume it's stress related and get a glass cat buddy. Hopefully this will help but the people at the pet stores seem to think I should accept that he's going to die soon and there's nothing anyone can do.
I'm...
I have a lone glass catfish in a 10 gallon tank with a couple of guppies. A few days ago he started to swim vertically (straight up and down). Today it is swimming wildly. Its spinning and zipping through the tank. It makes me dizzy just looking at the poor guy. I assumed he was stressed out so...
