Hi, my lfs finally got in the pearl gouramis I ordered (yeay!) and says they are ready to be picked up today. Problem is he says they are too young to be sexed. I wanted to get either two females or a male and female pair this worries me. Any tips on sexing young pearls? Thanks

Pearl gouramis aren't usually aggressive, it's one of the rare kinds of gourami that it is OK to put one pair (male and female) together alone. So I am not sure what to tell you but for the golden gourami, there should be two females for every male in the tank.

Hi, I am converting my 21 gallon (U.S.) tank to a planted one. I currently have an aquaclear power filter, this causes some surface movement and I was wondering if I should change the type of filter and if so which kind is best-suited for a planted tank. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

I am very discouraged, I only have one dose of tetracycline left to give them and one of the fish looks absolutely no better ... running out of ideas. Should I repeat treatment? (You would not believe the hell I went trhough to get the meds, they aren't legal in Quebec without human prescription...
