ok i received my test kit today and tested my ph which was 8.0 amonia was 0.25 is this gonna be harmful to my fish or what?

i think a frontosa would be too big i only have a 4ft tank 56 gallon i think

rabbut im certain youre wrong about siporax as i used to use it and it is extremely porus and not smoothe !

well i would prefer the most colourfull bigish cichlids

ok piper thanks but why woul it matter if the rings got really dirty would that not just mean more beneficial bacteria ?

thanks rubbut . the ext filter that came with my aquarium only has two baskets you see and i have a fluval 4 internal running aswell so that could have sponge and the external could have the ceramic rings do you think thats a good idea or not rabbut?

i have a rena xp2 external filter and a fluval 4 internal in my 4 ft tank and i am going to be keeping african cichlids and i was thinking would it be ok to remove the sponges from the rena xp2 and just fill the media baskets with siporax but leave the sponges in the fluval ? do you think this...

well im not doing a fishless cycle as i am old school . i only have four cichlids in a four foot tank so that will be ok until the biological filter kicks right in lol i will hardly feed them this week so that should keep amonia and nitrates to 0 what do you guys think of my philosophy ?

yes i got 4 african cichlids today and they seem to be doing fine 2 of them are jewel cichlids and the other 2 i dont know bollox to the fishless cycle !

well the measurements were supposed to be the sides 51 cm but actually that measurement was from the very front of the bow front you see so in actual fact the sides were only 31 cm so its alot smaller than i was expecting . by the way the aquarium with stand lights cabinet heater and ext filter...
