My first 2 years of college i carted my 37 gallon tank back and forth with me in the dorms, so i moved it twice a year (a one hour trip) and I did pretty much the same as he did. Seems to work pretty well if your not going too far.

Oldest trick in the book to keep unwanted little things out of the filter is to put pantiehose over the filter intake to act as a strainer! Try that and see if it works for ya.

Gotta love the Magnum350 or the 350 Pro with bio wheels! I have one on a 37 gallon tank and it works spectacular as long as im not to lazy to let it go 3 months without cleaning, but even then still works like a champ. 350 is way overdoing it for a 37 too, would do a 55 with no problem...

One thing to check would be your water flow, make sure there is enough water contacting the bio wheel to push it. But you said you old one was working fine so thats strange. Turn the filter off and see if it is hitting on something somewhere, or even just make sure that the 2 bio wheels you...

General rule for canisters is the cleaner it is the better it works.

I did that for a while but you still have to see the cord running down to the bottom and if your going to see that mite just as well see the heater =) =) :nod:

3 Different filter medias can be as good as they are bad. You have to replace 3 times as much therefore its much more expensive!
