How long has the tank been running? I would've thought there would be some nitrates showing on the results. Anyway I would guess that there has been some sort of cross contamination between batches of the fish. I've been in a similar situation a few years ago and that was the only thing I could...
Raising temp is in my opinion the best way to get rid of ich. Turn it up up slowly though over the course of a couple of days keepi there for around 2 weeks and dose with Epsom salts I think it's about a tablespoon per 5 gallons can't remember (Google should know). Dissolve this in a glass of...
Well been having a tinker with the tank today. Done a water test to check parameters. They were as follows
pH- between 7.2 and 7.6 so it is going down which is good.
Ammonia - 0.0 ppm
Nitrites - 0.5 ppm so water change necessary
Nitrates - 5.0ppm
So had a 25% water change and retested my...
I've kept angels for a few years. To be honest this has happened to me maybe once or twice. Where I've had 2 different types mixed and out of the blue they've became unwell and sadly died totally unexplained. I've just put it down to poor stock my opinion is these fish that are for sale in a lot...
Anyway wee update on progress.
I've decided to add this stop valve onto the purge valve as I was getting a slight drip into the hose which was slowly filling the pvc hose with water Which I wasn't happy about so for extra security I've added this and it seems to have rectified the issue added...
Unsure of what moderators will think but this isn't turning into a pets at home bashing thread so I'm sorry for it spiralling off topic.
I agree with you fish4dawin this clip comes to mind sometimes
But we'll say no more.
Just UK pre 2000 builds here unfortunately. I totally agree it's absolute garbage material. Would much prefer a nice hardwood floor but costly. Now I think house builders here have changed how there built concrete floors etc especially flats after that horrible grenfell tower tragedy.
I've had issues with pets at home prior. I mean they take your name and address and how big your tank is to keep it on file but they should also ask if you've got experience with fish keeping I mean I'm in my 30s and for at least 20 years of that I have had fish, so I would say that I have...
I'm not entirely sure if it can be trimmed or not I would hope I can give it a wee hair cut when it starts to grow in.
Stability is fine I mean I think people assume you just fire stability in and the tank will magically become cycled but that's not what I gathered from the stuff I've read...
Seen I was tagged after reading through the responses I would say you have been given enough advice. I did have issues with the carpet gripper rod as it's called here in UK. once I figured out the rod was knocking my tank off plumb when I moved into the house when setting up. I carefully prised...
