Yeah it sure is. I was talking to someone at the LFS yesterday and she pretty said the same as yourself. Apparently Australia has very restrictive regulations on what fish are allowed here. Ironic considering the majority of our serious pests were introduced by the government.

Thanks for the ideas guys... The pygmy sunfish does sound quite well suited to a small tank, although some of the articles seemed to mention that they only eat live food. So it looks like I will need to do some more reading. The microrasboras sound and look great. I will start asking around...

I might have a look at some of the betta's. No really too interested in frogs or snails though. I would like to get something a little more on the unusual side of things though.
