So true!! they look bad and i cant imagine theyre providing much or any benefits to the fish! Poor guys im sure theyd much prefer something more naturalistic even if its a fake log better than nothing!
That plant looks like Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus i think. Tank is looking amazing! Cant wait to see it grow out hope you show some update pictures in a bit!! Shrimp can be very sensitive to shifts in water parameters so if i had any advice it would be to really stay on top of those in such a...
You didn't get my point and that's fine, as i said you cant replicate nature in an aquarium and that other than the basic requirements that a fish needs it can vary a tad and people need to stop stressing so much over having perfect environments when it isn't possible to have everything perfect...
Okay guys HOT TAKE... but I personally don't believe that there is a wrong way to keep fish. The fish keeping hobby is already unnatural and each tank is its own experiment. Obviously putting a fresh water fish in a salt water tank ( or putting a fish in an environment it clearly wont be...
Was there a heater in the breeding box? And after you returned it to the main tank did you finish with a water change? It’s possible there was a temperature shock if the breeding box didn’t have a heater or had it set to a different temp and was simply dumped in the main tank

Yes I’ve just never experienced so murky before I was thinking that adding that little extra BB would help avoid this, hopefully it goes down soon if that is the case. Thank you!!
I stopped adding the bacteria after the first day it got cloudy thinking it’s possibly a bacteria bloom but it’s very dense so Im a bit confused. As for the peacock gudgeon I know! Yes I’ve been looking into finding more of these but this gudgeon was actually surrendered to a local fish store...
What type of filter are you running along with the air pump? It may be that the fish became familiar with the tank and felt safe enough to venture out. It could also be that if you have mostly fake decorations and minimal or no filtration before you added the air pump that your fish was...
Hi all, I recently rescaped my 29Gal community tank and I am having some issues. I reused the gravel substrate from my previously established tank as the base of the substrate and layered aqua soil bags and topped it off with sand. I planted the tank heavily with all types of Anubis, crypts...
