could i just be over feeding him?

no nothing like that! that tank is not filtered but it is heated! i am going to buy a filter next week or so, when i get time to go out!

he is in a fair size tank by himself the tank is 41cmLx21cmWx23cmH i change the water every 1 to 2 weeks and i feed him sum betta food i baught at the shops... he loves it i used to feed him 3 times a day but not alot only a little bit and have since changed that to once a day for now!
