Hi! I originally had a small, short plastic plant that my betta seemed to be 'ok' with. I just recently purchased a tall silk plant thats leaves are just a little below the surface. He LOVES it. He goes up to the top to rest on the leaves and enjoys hiding behind it. I got mine at Petco. :)
