Okay so that is 2.02dH so very soft but the pH is a constant 7.4 so should it matter about the hardness? I had thought until now water hardness was just important for altering pH levels.

My harness Clarke is 2.52, and on the data sheet it says moderately soft, how would that be converted?

Thanks :) I just thought since they show absolutely no aggression now and seem very happy and active I might have just got lucky and it might be better to keep them as a pair, but if it is much better for them I would obviously like to get more.

We asked them if they had any issues with the other tetras and they said they didn't know of any, but that it might come from shock.

We've just been to the LFS and the guy confirmed it was a bacterial infection after seeing the pics. He gave us myxazin to treat them for 5 days, and hopefully it works! One of the loaches has disappeared too so hopefully it's not dead

Ok so we lost two more guppies overnight. I'm treating daily with melafix. I did the saltwater dip yesterday, but I'm not sure how a long term saltwater tank would work, would it be worth it doing it only for the guppies, since the tetras can't handle not having a heater? We only have 3 guppies...

Should I put the guppies in saltwater long term too or will the 15 mins or so in strong saltwater be enough?

We took new water measurements, and ammonia and nitrite are 0, and nitrate is less than 5ppm

The guppy died. Apart from the stiff left fin, he has a weird dark area at the top, behind the head. He was extremely healthy until we got back home just now, we've only been away for about 4 hrs

The problem is the other heater doesn't work. Do they need another filter too? I have another 30l tank, if I were to get another heater, will it need a filter/cycling/ etc? The tank is empty and hasn't been used in months
