the substrate is the standard stuff that comes with the bio orb its like a very light volcanic rock type substance .....as for light i think they oly have approx 5-6 hrs per day

my girlfriend has a bio orb setup with tropical fish, it runs fine just that she keeps getting big build up of algae/debris etc on the substrate ......has anybody had similar problems ?? is it possible to change the substrate ?? any solutions to this problem would be appreciated
