    Snail control

It's a question of economics - I bought 2 nerites (one died). They cost me a fiver (£ 5) each.

Thanks, everyone, for your input. I need to give this more thought. In the meantime, I will remove as many as I can, manually.

    Snail control

I have some Christmas moss in this tank that needs trimming, and I want to put some into my other tank, but don't want to import the snails, so what I am going to try is give it a good rinse under the tap to get rid of as many as possible, then I will put the moss into a container with a good...

    Snail control

It is only a 15-litre tank with 2 shrimp, so I hardly put any food in. I have twice put a shrimp stick in for about 24 hours - no other food, as there is enough for them, diatoms, etc. The snails came in with the plants.

    Snail control

Thanks, Gary. I guess I can try that, but there are so many, and many of them so small, they are not easy to see, let alone pick out.

    Snail control

Hi. I have a planted, 15-litre tank with Cherry shrimps (I bought 5 but only have 2 left) and one Zebra nerite. Unfortunately, with the plants, I also imported some snails, which, of course, have exploded. I have been told that an Assassin snail would harm the Nerite, but Copilate says that the...

Thanks. I had never seen these fish before, and I've never seen them for sale anywhere since. I'm not really up on the Latin names of fish. Takes me all my time to remember the common names. :)

Thanks. I may try the first 3 plants that you mentioned - sometime. (though I bet I can destroy them). Oddly enough, many years ago, when I first started with fish, I had an Amazon Sword in my first tank, which was an 18-inch, plastic bow-fronted tank. The plant grew very well, but after about a...
