I have an OR 2500 in the sump which is driving me, and the other half, mad !! It just seams to be noisey - either used with the suction cups directly on the base or with some polystyrene under it. It's connected to hard piping using some flexible pipe. Any suggestions??

Is polystyrene OK to be used in a sump - my return pump is a lot quieter when there is a polystyrene underneath it lifting it off the base. Thanks.
