I have what I would describe as small 'snails' appearing all over my aquarium, especially around the filter and on the glass. Caught a few with my gravel cleaner but very ineffective so I guess I need to find the source? Any suitable tank treatments? Any help welcomed!

To get sqeezings from a mature tank, the mature carbon filter is sqeezed into some water from that tank, I then open my filter and pour this water over my carbon filter?

I'm using the Nutrafin liquid test kits but finding the colour guages very difficult to read. Are all kits like this or are there any that are better/easier to use?

PH is 8 and has been throughout. I believe I already have ample aeration, from both an airpump and from the outlet at the top of the filter. Can you explain why a 50% water change might help?
