    To be honest your pretty much up to capacity, you've got around 17-18 inches of adult fish and a 17gal tank. If I were you I would get my tetra numbers up to around 5-6, which is recommended for tetras and leave it there. K

    Is your tank cycled? Or did you fill your tank up with water and add your fish? When you say your readings are fine, what are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate reading? Are you using test strips or liquid tests? Sorry for all the questions, but the more info we have the better K
