🐠 TOTM VOTE NOW - December 2023 Tank of the Month Contest (16 gal & smaller)

It's finally my time to shine! Been waiting for a 10 gallon opportunity. This is my 10 gallon setup. I have had it going for about 2 years now, haven't changed the water a single time since. I only top off when needed. No fertilizer used, no aquasoil (just a sandy bottom), no CO2. I try to...

    Adding “accessories” to mystery snails?

Heard! Thanks for the input. Still thinking it through. I’m still not convinced it will damage the snail but the conversation here has absolutely prompted me to think about it more. Thanks for your response

    Adding “accessories” to mystery snails?

Saw another thread (>link removed<) where people talk about using moss. I do think thats a smarter option for this particular idea. Anubias may be too big, i need to look around at other plants more. Also, I’m not really applying the glue to the living creature. It would be like applying fake...

    Adding “accessories” to mystery snails?

It wouldn’t be a hands off approach. Of course I would trim the plant and / or remove it if things get out of control. I’ve trimmed roots on epithites before with only small impediments to their growth.

    Adding “accessories” to mystery snails?

Curious why you think so. I see algae grow on their shells all the time, and a very small plant won’t affect their movement. Open to hearing your thoughts though.

    Adding “accessories” to mystery snails?

Hey guys, recently I was inspired by the Pokèmon “Torterra”. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a turtle with a tree on its’ back, basically. Would there be any drawbacks to gluing Anubias Nana petite to the shell of a large mystery snail? I think it would be so cool to watch a plant grow...

10 Gal. Low Tech Planted Aquarium!

Hey everyone, I've had this tank set up for about a year now, and it's been through many stages. At this point, it's home to a lot of young platies, a colony of Orange Bee shrimp, and so many varieties of snails. I throw one algae wafer in there per day and it's become a really nice low tech...

Freshwater Bladder Snail Jar Log (1 Gal, no filter)

ONE YEAR UPDATE! Haven't added water since July. The moss has completely taken over, and all the other plants are just becoming food for the snails. I occasionally throw more snails in there when I find them in my 10 gallon tank, but the population always thins and on average the jar can support...

    Very sick betta

He does move to come up for air, and about 3-4 hours ago he ate some pellets that I gave him. Seems like he has lost all energy to swim besides that
