i stand corrected; they are not schooling fish, but rather prefer a group setting...

i housed a male betta (crowntail) with 2 sunburst playties along with some other fish in a 55 gallon tank...at first he displayed the same behaviors (swimming in 1 spot...up and down the glass)...eventually (after about about 5 or so days) we noticed that he would attack any other fish that came...

silly putty works, but you can also buy a special sticky stuff at most LFS...it's an adhesive that you put between where the rocks connect...helps to hold them together...take care

ya, a marine tank is definetly not something you want to rush into...lol...make sure you take the time and do the research! (yeah reading sucks but ya gotta! :crazy: ) i have spent about $2000 on my 55 (us) gallon reef tank...only have live rock in there atm...no fish...no inverts...no...

move the LR to one side, make sure he's on the other, and put a board or somethin (like a cutting board etc or a strainer would work) and drag it through the water and force him to one side, then scoop him up! that's what i do at least :) hth and gl! :good:

if you can, throw the aiptasia in a pot and boil it...that should kill it...then you can use a towel to pick it up and throw it away etc....do NOT throw your LR in a pot and boil it lol, you'll end up with dead rock

sounds like a really good deal...even with the aipistia problem...i've spent at least double that on a 55gallon already... i mean the tank itself is worth close to $500...live rock is around $5/lb 200*5=1000... up to you, but if you don't want it i'll buy it lol

i have heard that injecting them with near boiling water or with lemon juice also works..maybe someone else can confirm if this works... gl :) it was suggested that a peppermint shrimp may do the trick, from what i understand these guys (although it is debated) generally do eat aiptasia...

it looks more like green hair algae than cyanobacteria, i will need to double check but from what i can recall that is my impression of what it is :) Thank you

i'm by no means an expert and it sounds like ak77 knows a more about it than i do, but from what i understand clowns can become territorial as they mature, additionally all but the percula clowns ("fake clowns") are rather difficult to pair. so they might become snappy with your less aggressive...
