I am using a drop checker to monitor c02 levels in my tank,using the 4dkh solution and it goes green ok but but stays green overnight with co2 off.I have no co2 leaking into tank and have very slight surface movement so i would of thought it would go blue,is there anything else that could affect...

i have left some water for a while before testing ph from tap and its now reading 7.2,should the water be left awhile?

If my ph out of tap is 7.0 and kh is 10 this shows up as 32 on the chart,if i get my ph down to 6.6 it shows up on chart as 81,but my drop checker is still green this is why im confused. any help would be great thanks

Hi my plants grow well but i was wanting to try creating a carpet effect using glosso or dwarf hairgrass so can i do it? I have a 48"x12"x12" tank,the lights are 14" above the substate,all fitted with light reflectors,the lights are 2x48" arcadia freshwater tubes 36w (rear and centre) 1x42"...

Hi got my hands on jbl permanent co2 test,it only takes 2 drops of solution but i am a bit concerned,if the solution inside was to leak into my tank(although it has not,and should not)would it kill my my fish? thanks karl

I set out to buy 6 multifasciatus,but when i got to the shop spotted some Lamprologus ocellatus "Gold" :rolleyes: and they looked lovely,so that was it,they were mine.I bought 6 of them not sure on the male/female ratio but the dealer said he thought there were 2 males.I also bought 4...

Hi thanks for reply yes i meant 6 fish(Lamprologus multifasciatus)and yes my gh is 17 straight out of the tap,but test kit is a couple of years old but im sure it was that when i tested it before.I hope the bristle nose will be ok hes never eaten a fish yet and has been in with very small fish...

Hi thinking of setting up a tank for some shell dwellers(6 multi`s)just wondering if i will have to buffer up my ph.I am getting a reading of around 7.8,would i be right in thinking this will go up a little when shells are added? The tank size is 48 x12x12,which is already cycled just cleared...
