    Betta With Fin Rot

My fish died today. He was doing really well for 7 days, eating, was active and alert. So the Jungle Fungus Eliminator was helping. But his fins were still deteriorating. The medication brought him back to life and I really thought he would pull through. But he suddenly stopped eating the day...

    Betta With Fin Rot

My fish is suffering from fin rot. The white tips were in fact eating away at his fins. He had the white tips before I started treating him with medication. He was also lethargic and stopped eating before I started treating him with anything. Within the last week his anal fin began deterioration...

    Betta With Fin Rot

That phrase was really unnecessary. I'd appreciate if you'd refrain from posting in my thread. I am finding your posts crass and insulting.

    Betta With Fin Rot

First of all, the moderator in question told me that my fish MIGHT be reacting to the two medications I used (Jungle Fungus Eliminator & Tetracycline). He said the lethargy COULD have resulted from that. But, he also figured my Betta was cured of the illness he had initially because he appeared...

    Betta With Fin Rot

He had all these symptoms before I started using medication. The symptoms also went away while he was on them. I strongly feel that the symptoms are still related to an illness, not the medication. I will not take part in ending his life, if that is what you are suggesting. If you are interested...

    Betta With Fin Rot

Since his fin rot is back in full force and he isn't doing any better. I've decided to try Tetracycline on it's own, suggested to me on Ultimate Bettas.com. Though I have to order it so it will take a few days.

He still won't eat. It has been 8 days.

    Betta With Fin Rot

A moderator from the fishlesscycling forum thinks my Betta may be reacting to too much medication, and suggested I stop treatment. He said "The fish has been exposed to sodium sulfathiazole, sodium sulfamethazine, sodium sulfacetamide, copper, tetracycline, nitrofurazone, furazolidone, and...

    Betta With Fin Rot

He hasn't eaten in 5 days. I have tried pellets, flakes, freeze dried blood worms and frozen blood worms. He doesn't acknowledge the food at all. This is really upsetting. I hope he isn't suffering. Though I can't help but think he must be.

    Betta With Fin Rot

No, he is breathing normal and every so often he appears normal like in the photos I posted. He still won't eat.

    Betta With Fin Rot

He stopped eating before I could use garlic juice. I just found him on his side again at the bottom of the tank. :(

    Betta With Fin Rot

He seems a bit better today. He isn't lying on the bottom anymore. But, he is very weak. He mostly just floats around with the current. He still won't eat. The Triple Sulfa treatment will be complete tomorrow. Should I buy more? All these meds are ridiculously expensive. $16 a pack which only...

    Freshwater Mussels

That's really unfortunate and rather cruel, since they are not sold with this information. I don't understand why they available in the pet trade to start with.

    Betta With Fin Rot

I just found him up in a vertical position. Pointing straight up, sort of just floating. I tapped him and he darted away then swam around and went into a silk plant and started doing the same thing (floating upwards). On the Betta talk side they said to use Tetracycline or Triple Sulfa with...

    Freshwater Mussels

I was at the LFS and saw an aquarium of large mussels titled "Freshwater Mussels". I've never seen that before. I have seen small freshwater clams but not large mussels (similar to the kind people eat). The clerk said they're from Singapore. When I asked him what they eat, he said they just...
