    Research Help

I don't have one, but oscars, commom plecos, and bala sharks are like standard fish always available in the big box stores. There is no information on them so everyone buys one or five, regardless of the size of the tank. Then I think that oscars and common plecos are pretty hardy so survive...

    Red Spot Severum

Very cool. I had no idea they spawned on vertical surfaces. I would not have guessed that. Keep us posted. :good:

    Angel Fish Pair Question's

Swords should do okay with low/med light. Go for it. Also could do some flat rocks at a diagonal. Angels can be all over the place in aggression. My two chase off other fish when spawning, but they live peacefully with neons. So go figure. I have had other angels that were much nastier.

    Black Belt Cichlid

Boy, stunning fish. I don't know about sexing but that is one gorgeous fish. How big is the tank? What are the tankmates? Thanks for sharing a picture.

    Angel Fish Pair Question's

Mined paired and spawned the first time when their bodies were about 1 inch. They spawn regularly now, every two weeks, and I have had them about 2 years now. Never had fry because someone, I suspect the bn, eats the eggs within 12 hours. Oh and they like to lay eggs on vertical surfaces...

    Id Please

Your picture is of a biotodoma waverni. It's spot is between the two lateral lines. Biotodoma cupido the spot is above the two lateral lines. Lateral lines are those faint lines travelling horizontally across the fishes body. Here are my cupido's. Note the spot is above the second lateral...

    Want A Severum

I think the sev are pretty peaceful. And it is always about the individual. My rotkeil male rules the tank. He does live more or less peacefully with everyone but challenges the red spot severum who is quickly moving to out weigh him. But that doesn't always matter. The Rotkeil did go after...

    6 Foot Mainly Cichlid Tank

That is a huge tank. You could do a lot more than what you have listed. I would look around at other possible stockings before you commit. There is a lot of information on line. I have a 4x2x2 with a red sev, rotkeil and a chocolate cichid, a satanoperca and a threadfin, 5 cupid cichlids, a...

    Fish Id

The first looks female with those distinctive black markings and the second looks male to me but I couldn't tell you the specific subspecies. Good luck.

    Stocking For A 250L Tall

Careful on the firemouths... the pair I introduced attacked my cories(and I don't mean chased... but drew blood) until I brought them back to the store. There are other cichlids that won't be as aggressive. I have and have had a breeding angel pair with bolivian rams, keyholes, and cupids with...

    Firemouth

I had two in a 30 and they would have done just fine, but these two accepted no other fish at all didn't matter the species. They are cool fish but a bit skitzy for me. Good luck.

Thoughts On The Sex Of This Rotkeil Severum

Thanks everyone. Here is an interesting thing. Another forum, whose name shall remain unspoken, decided after a bit of debate that the rotkeil is a male. The reason they arrived at that is that most females do not have markings on the cheeks and near the eyes but are totally blank like the...
