    Moving House With Fish

I've moved twice in the last few years and the most stressful part of it for me each time was my ONE fish tank, so I don't envy you! That being said, I got hold of some big containers to keep as much water as possible.. as well as this I managed to get some polystyrene boxes with lids and...

    Re-Doing Tank.. Plant Ideas?

Hi all, I'm just in the stages of completely re-doing my tank, replacing my black sand with natural looking gravel and making 3 large pieces of bog-wood the "centerpiece" of the tank. I really want to go for a natural look this time, so no fake ornaments or anything, but also want a lot of...

    120L Tank, Need Some Inspiration!

Hi all,   It's been a fair while since I visited, but I'm in a bit of need as far as my tank goes.. I'm a bit bored with it at the moment and need to make it look a LOT more "wow!"   At the moment, I have two standard T5 lights, but I feel the look of the tank is quite "yellow" and not very eye...

    Lighting Questions

Well, I added the black sand and WOW, what an amazing difference. If i'd have known how much nicer black sand was over white, i'd have done that in the first place! It looks no natural now. :)

    Lighting Questions

I may pickup another day bulb tomorrow then if you're sure. You can also get a blue bulb I believe or what they call a "colour" bulb for it. Which juwel states on their site is better for tropical? Any thoughts on the black sand with light ornaments?

    Lighting Questions

Hi all, I was wondering if I could put a different bulb in my tank to bring the colours out more? I find it a little yellow looking at the moment. My tanks is a Juwel RIO 125 with the normal lighting (1x day bulb and 1x nature bulb). Any ideas? Also, on a side note.. i'm looking at getting...

    Stocking, Sand, Air & Plants

Thanks Any idea where I can get it from online? Also, not sure how it'd look with a light ornament I have in there now? (It's a light rock with holes in etc). I guess it'd make it stand out.

    Stocking, Sand, Air & Plants

Ok, i'll keep the sand. Does anyone know if black sand looks nice? If I do have to keep it for the sake of the cories (which is fine). Perhaps I can find a middle ground and have a darker colour so it doesn't show mess up as much. I do weekly changes/cleans, but almost straight away it's dirty...

    Stocking, Sand, Air & Plants

Hi all, I'm just re-setting my whole tank up as I got a bit tired of the dirty look of sand. Anyway, a few questions - would appreciate replies even if you can only help with one of these below; 1) I was thinking of getting a nice air-curtain in the tank, but heard this isn't good for plants...

    Moss?

Does anyone know also where you can find mesh made for a backdrop of a Juwel Lido 120? 61 x 41 x 58 cm for example is the measurements I need for a mesh-wall, but I have no idea where to buy this size. Was wondering if anyone online sold this.

    Moss?

Thanks, i'll look into it. I found java-moss a real pain to "tie down" to things... i'm thinking of possibly small stones, or "moss balls" ? The bog-wood will be tricky though, best way to do this?

    Moss?

Thanks :) I'd like to have a half-sand, half-moss sort of setup, does this work? I've been looking at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Riccia-Java-moss-plant-mesh-and-netting-x-2-/250758469715?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item3a625e9853#ht_1227wt_1082 for a base to put it in. Would this suit christmas moss?

    Moss?

Hi all, I'm looking at getting some moss to cover some of my bog wood as I have shrimps and corys and i'd think the shrimp especially would like it. Is there a moss-type that stays short and relatively neat, kind of like cut-grass? I'm sure I've heard of one but can't think of the name!
