i have put discus in a 4 week old tank a few times and had no problems at all !

discus should get to 7'' but can reach 10''. jn

not sure as i do'nt know anything about them ,sugestions?

just recently i have found pictures of discus tanks on the internet with large plecs in . i was told these fish are'nt very compatable. i would like my tank to have a amazonian feel so the adition of a plec would be good but only if it wont harm my discus . does any one keep both fish together ?

over the last month or so i have settup a 150 gallon tank for discus .could some one tell me what power of lighting would be needed for good plant growth. i have read about lights on the forum but i'm not sure how the rules apply when you light a tank this size. thank s john

yes good point, i would treat a lot of so called rules as only guide lines. its good to bend the rules now and then .

please do post you recipe for beefheart . i do add spinnich and even tetra prima foods .locally to me there are a couple of well known breeders , sd punchard ,great harwood . they recommend feeding high quantitys of beefheart . please could you mention why you would,nt keep angels in a discus...

ps iwould feed non poluting foods such as blood worm and flake / granuels keep the ph around 7 at a temp of around 30 0c and keep tetras , clown fish with them for a start.
