Hi all! I need some ideas for this.... My mom recently (as in 3 days ago) drained her 30 gallon tank. (It had been running empty for a couple of weeks.) She'd had two fancy goldfish in there, but one died, and the filter got the other one. Anyway, she'd had it up for 4 years, and was tired...

Just a hint....those canvas sheets are just a touch irritating to get into the channels. Bring arm muscles and make sure that everything is dry, otherwise you'll just be slipping and sliding your hands on it! :thumbs:

Can I ask how you did it? (So that the water flowed over it?) I know that this idea works becuase so many of ya'll (hey, I'm a Southerner!) have posted about it working, but since I haven't actually tried it yet, I'm a little iffy on it! :dunno: DO you have pics?

Hmm, I hope they come back up! Maybe just cause I keep adding to them... And the soda bottle trick is somewhere in the forum, do a search on current kill or something like that.

Currently yes. I'm keeping a close eye on him to make sure that he doesn't mind the flow. It doesn't seem to bad right now and he swims through without getting thrown around any (but then again, he was on the same side as the filter before I got this new one and he loved to play in the current...

I got the divders from Petsmart....like these (Penn Plax) But, the thin sheets that come with it I don't like. So I got some of the plastic canvas sheets and used them instead. They have more stability to them, and using the braces from the others, I can still move them around all I want...
