CO2 Generator Exhausted After A Few Hours

Hmmm.. some interesting ideas there!! I'm a little skeptical about the problem being a leak, as 200g + 200g of reactants are used up in about 8 hours, when the kit instructions are telling me they should last a month. With easily detectable output from the diffuser, and the leak needing to be...

CO2 Generator Exhausted After A Few Hours

I am attempting to set-up a baking soda - citric acid CO2 injector for a planted tank. I purchased a kit from ebay (photo1) with the necessary fittings, valves, gauge, tubing, etc, and set it up, with the standard 200 ml water and 200g baking soda in bottle B (photo2), and 600ml water plus...

API Low Ph Fluid for CO2 ppm Indicator?

I am setting up a CO2 injection scheme for a freshwater planted tank. I will be using a glass globe-type indicator containing fluid which changes from blue to green at ~ 30 ppm dissolved CO2, and then to yellow @ > 30 ppm, approximately. I have a bottle of API low-range ph indicator, which I...

ugh fish choosing #2 (better explanation)

I doubt that they need wood, but I have an old piece of mopani wood in my tank, to add a little tannin to the water. I have never seen yoyo's paying much attention to the wood, maybe because I keep a large nerite snail which cleans that piece of wood constantly. If you use mopani wood, be...

ugh fish choosing #2 (better explanation)

My ph tends to be around 7.4 - 7.6, and I have not had any problems. I also have cories in with the yoyo's in my tank, and they all get along fine. The cory's are a little more specialized to the bottom, yoyo's go everywhere, cleaning everything, and they are more active.

ugh fish choosing #2 (better explanation)

I really like yo yo loaches. they look nice, are not picky about food or water, don't bother other fish, & even tolerate bullies well. They clean everything; drill right into the bottom for junk, , go right in among plants , & all the way to the surface, they don't even cost very much! I bought...

    African dwarf frogs dangerous?

Suggest reading the article; It mentions "children". not "toddlers".

Old Tank Syndrome, Nothing Helps, NO3 Test Makes No Sense!

OK, attached are some photo's. On the far right of photo #1 Overview", is a mass of floating Hornwort that is almost dead: pale tan - to - almost white. Also, hair algae is almost absent now; used to be a real nuisance. Phosphorus deficiency?
