I Had an external filter for over a year now but today it began to leak. i replaced it with an internal 160 litre filter for the time being. I remember being told to go totally overkill on filtration but is that really needed? My tank is only 160 litres.

Was looking for a heater from Amazon, Ended up buying an Ehiem 200w. All the other heaters i looked at that were 200w heated aquariums of 120-240l of water. My Ehiem says it heats 300l-400l. My tank is 160 litre but with water probably 120l. Is it ok if my heater is powerful like this?

Only delicate plants i have are Ludwigia Arctura and Rotala Machandra

I'm going to get another 30w floodlight light and create a light bar basically. Should I maybe turn my lights on for 7 hours a day with 90w of light

I have 2 30w spotlights and im getting ALOT of algae. I had a 50w but the light was too bright i didnt like the look of it. Do i actually need really high light for plants like anubias, java fern crypts etc?

My tank is 50cm high the light would be around 55cm. I have 8cm of substrate so in total around 50cm is the led to the substrate. Is this ok

I recently bought 2 30w floodlights from amazon. However I am looking into purchasing an AQUAEL 32w led. It has 8000k and just looks overall cleaner. My tank is 160 litres but probably will only have around 110 litres of water in it. The lights are expensive and my seller is telling me I need 2...

I meant aquasoils not dirt from my garden haha. I swear I've heard of people putting things under the substrate to increase highth in some areas.

I want to have a aquascape that provides depth. I have enough substrate to cover the whole aquarium floor with 3+ inches of soil. Can I put bags or sponges under substrate to give it that elevated look?

I bought a bag of Ada soil 9l the tank will go from 80x35x30cm to 80x50x40cm LxHxW. The Oliver Knott is brown and Ada is black, I don't want to get them mixed together, can I use mesh netting or a plastic bag over the Ada soil and then put the Oliver Knott on to?

So I've got approx 19l of Oliver Knott soil in my tank. However I'm getting a bigger tank and need more substrate. I can't find Oliver Knott soil 10l anymore and I really don't know what other substrate I could use. I was wondering if I bought aquaclay pellets would they work as a bottom layer...

I could go with 3 30w lights but a guy who sells plants told me 90w for a 160 litre tank is far too much lighting

I have it about 1-3cm from edge on all sides, a bit off topic but how much Watts would I need for a 160 litre aquarium?

I agree bigger is better but if I go 45 on width my tank will be literally on the edge of my stand. I'm considering adding an extra 5cms on to the height. I'm not sure if it would look better or worse
