Not wanting to start an argument, but I have always bought tanks that have that extra height. I think that it shows off the fish better and you can clearly distinguish the top/middle/bottom feeders. I also think that you can squeeze a few extra fish in as long as you don't overcrowd one area...

DMK - Have you phoned since your initial call or even emailed Trimar the photo? Have you specifically told them that you are unhappy with the fish and requested a replacement? I don't know if fish are covered by the same law that covers you if you were sent a faulty appliance? Jazz_UK
