i looked on wiki until i found it and it appears to be a pristella tetra although that definately wasnt what it said on the sellers tank....doesnt matter i suppose

i thought i saw something under the skin on his body a while back but it never came to anything. it looked like a bloodclot around the spine area mid way down.

ive just done a 50% water change and plan to do another tomorrow....maybe less water this time tho
its a 100 litre tank i think, with 7 tetras of varying types and four guppys of varying types. the tank has been running for 8+ months now.

well i had a good look through a lot of the posts that the search threw up and it looks like cyanobacteria is a real struggle to get rid of.
there were a lot of posts about poor water movement accelerating the growth cos they like still dank corners. i notice the growth in my tank always starts...

Thanks for your response:) The plants are real and I don' tthink that's the problem as it's only recently this has started to happen. Think I'll do a nitrate etc test and see what that says. Trouble is because I don't know much about fish I'm not even sure about what to narrow the possibilities...

Bit new to tropical fish keeping (matter of months) and already I'm having problems. The tank (2ftby1ft) is filling up with black furry algae? I clean it out regularly and have tried lessening the hours of light and feeding them less etc. Anyone got any ideas on where I'm going wrong...
